Monthly	Current genealogical events is updated monthly. This link always shows the current month's events.
20 AUG 2000	More computer genealogy books are available now and soon on our CGSSD Bookstore site, in association with Amazon.com.
1 JUNE 2000	Another new feature on the home page: imminent local genealogical events are listed in the upper left hand corner, drawn from a new database containing the events of the month. Further enhancements are in process to link each listed event with its full description on the events page.
1 MAY 2000	Our web site has a new feature on the home page: Lindy's Link of the Day. This feature is linked to a new database of all Lindy's Links published in COMPU.GEN over the past few years and allows Linda Tate to update the links easily to keep them fresh. In addition, the Lindy's Links page is an index to the new database which can display links by issue published, by category, or allows a text search on title and description.
25 APR 2000	We've added new "computer genealogy" books to the CGSSD Bookstore after doing an updated search on Amazon.com.
6 MAR 2000	Linda Tate, former CGSSD President, has given us a new "Lindy's Links" section, this one on "Unique and Unusual Mailing Lists" in the members-only section.
13 FEB 2000	We are pleased to provide a link to Somos Primos, a publication of the Society of Hispanic Historical and Ancestral Research. The regular link is on the local societies page.
1 JAN 2000	Welcome to the new Millennium, or at least the final year of the 20th century. We've updated our key pages today, including local libraries, local societies, and local Family History Centers. Also, we've updated the map page to show our new meeting location.
10 DEC 1999	Linda Tate has again updated the page on Where to Begin on the Internet in Lindy's Links This time she added a whole new section on genealogical search engines. We've also caught Lindy's Links up to date by posting her most recent columns covering American Westward Expansion and British Isles resources, all in the member area, of course.
22 AUG 1999	The new book by Cyndi Howells was added to our CGSSD Bookstore. Linda Tate also updated the page on Where to Begin on the Internet in Lindy's Links. New genealogy software programs and versions were added to the Guide to Genealogy Software page in the member section.
13 AUG 1999	PAF User Group news includes information about downloading PAF 4.0 and updates to PAF 3.0.
1 AUG 1999	The online member directory is now updated dynamically from a web-linked database everytime you access it. Only current members appear in our directory, which is only available to current members logging in to our members-only area. In the future, you will be able to update your own directory information from a simple web form. In the meantime, please e-mail any directory changes to our membership chairman, Jerry Oen, at JOenCGSSD@aol.com.
14 JUL 1999	Lindy's Links now includes her article from the June 1999 COMPU.GEN entitled "Migration Paths, Trails and Roads."
24 APR 1999	Lindy's Links now includes her article from the March 1999 COMPU.GEN, entitled "Libraries and Library Catalogs Online."
24 JAN 1999	The online membership directory is now dynamically generated from our memberrship database, resulting in more frequent updates.
1 JAN 1999	We have updated the current events page for January and the directory of family history centers.
28 DEC 1998	With the delivery of the December 1998 issue of COMPU.GEN, we have a new sample cover page and an addition to Lindy's Links, for Passenger Records and Ships Lists.
21 NOV 1998	This web site got a nice mention in Online column at the San Diego ComputorEdge magazine dated 20 NOV 1998. Check it out quickly while it's still on the newsstand and online. Here is the issue cover:
19 NOV 1998	Updated FHC page, the societies page, and the libraries page. Also added a new page for research into local San Diego genealogy and history and a new page to index the archives of the CGSSD mailing list. In the members area, added additional CD-ROMs to the "Who's Got What" list. (For 24 hours, I added a cute Java-based news headline banner from the 7AM news service to the top of the main page. It slowed down the loading of the page, so it has been moved to an alternate main page at cgssd-j.html for those interested in viewing it. Let me know if you like it. - Gary)
1 NOV 1998	Updated Events page for November. Added additional CD-ROMs to the "Who's Got What" list.
17 OCT 1998	Added a new section for members carrying minutes of the CGSSD Board meetings, posted monthly by the CGSSD Secretary. Also posted handout from the October general membership meeting, an outline comparing various genealogy "megasites," for members who missed the meeting or the handout.
30 SEP 1998	Updated Events page for October. Also, a new set of Lindy's Links has been added in anticipation of the upcoming issue of COMPU.GEN.
22 SEP 1998	Updated main page with notice about October's meeting. Updated member's guide to genealogy software to reflect new versions and new ownerships.
31 AUG 1998	Updated Events page for September. Due to popular demand, I've eliminated the colored text links on the front page. But in retribution, I've turned the title blue. It's not clickable, just blue.
8 AUG 1998	Updated home page with more details about member benefits, including a COMPU.GEN graphic. Added a GIF of the current COMPU.GEN issue front page. Do you like the colored text in the links on the left column of the home page or should I should change them back to normal, automatic link colors. Let me know at ghoffman@ucsd.edu.
